[Kei ignores the first buzz of the phone. And the second. He's going to see Kaoru in a few minutes, and it's fun to get him riled up sometimes. Besides, this is a new song. It deserves attention.

But by the seventh text? Okay, that's getting ridiculous. Kei scowls and digs out the phone to find a string of... SOS messages? Whatever's wrong, Kaoru sounds panicked.]

[There. He likes this better then talking into the top of Kaoru's head.]

So... do you really want to go to Switzerland?

[Kaoru likes being able to see Kei more, too. It takes him a minute to remember when he mentioned that, and then he's shrugging.]

Depends on how you feel about snow. I guess we'll have to wait til the volleyball season is over first, though.

Snow's fine. But I've never left, the country, you know.

[Tokyo is as far as he's gotten. And even that wasn't really visiting the city. Everything centered around the tournaments. Gym all day, falling into a hotel bed at night.

Oh, and one quick trip to Tokyo Tower so the Freak Duo would finally shut up about it.]

[The idea is somewhat unfathomable to Kaoru, who has had a passport since he was a baby, but he knows better than to tease Kei. He takes this into consideration instead, and then hums.]

So what you're saying is you'd rather travel within Japan first? We have vacation homes in lots of different cities... how does Karuizawa sound?

[There's a huff at that which is definitely more fond then anything else. But Kaoru's not immediately insisting they jet off to make up for this shocking Lack of Culture. Which leaves Kei a lot more open to the idea.]

It might be interesting. And I'm not saying I don't want to leave Japan, I just haven't really thought much about it.

[Kei's playfully affronted tone makes Kaoru laugh and lean up to give him a quick little peck on the lips.]

If you'd prefer, we could just stay at a hotel or something. Whatever you want, babe.

[The nickname is flirtatious, but Kaoru's expression is nothing but soft.]

[Kei's gotten used to the name. Even - occasionally - answers to it. Circling an arm around Kaoru's waist he hitches him closer.]

Just warn me? No whisking me off to things without at least a week's notice.

[He's... really never going to be one for surprises. But at least he's more willing to go along with madcap plans now?]

[He agrees readily; after all, today was a huge surprise, so he's probably used up all of his surprises for at least a year. Maybe nine months, if he can get away with it.

He squirms a bit to get re-situated after Kei hitches him up, then kisses his bottom lip briefly.]

In light of that, what would be your dream vacation, hm?

[This actually gets consideration.]

Hm. We went to the ocean a few times, when I was small. I'd like to go again and see the tide pools. Maybe somewhere warmer then here?

[He's thinking more about looking at the fish, though no doubt Kaoru can think of more things to add.]

[Kaoru considers this for a moment, then makes a suggestion.]

How about Okinawa? They have beautiful beaches, and their aquarium is amazing, too. I know you'll like that, with how much you like learning about nature.

That sounds promising.

[It feels... strange, talking about the future. Not in a bad way and it isn't as if it's any kind of in-depth plan. But this won't happen for months.

Absently Kei strokes through Kaoru's hair.]

What about you? Wouldn't you be bored, with all that learning?

[He sighs softly at the gentle touch, but makes a little pouty expression.]

I may be shallow, but I'm not completely vapid. I can enjoy a place like that, too.

All right, all right - Just... us, right? We're not going to have a surprise visit from the rest of your friends?

[...Look, he can dream. Haruhi has warned him.]

[A dour look crosses his face, and there's a certain steel to his voice when he responds.]

They'd better not come if they value their lives. I'd kill them if they interfered.

[He means it. He hope Kei knows he means it.]

Wow, I thought I was supposed to be the scary one in this relationship?

[Not that he isn't... flattered?]

Awww. [He coos with a smirk.] Is that what you thought, babe? That's cute.

I'm 200 centimeters and can rip apart opposing defenses with my brain. So yes?

[He's terrifying excuse you.]

I'm worth about as much money as the Tokyo Skytree and I can rip apart my enemies with my fashion sense. [Kaoru snorts.] We put the power in power couple, don't we?

[He really can't find holes in that logic. Though there's a chuckles at 'fashion.' Kei might have more respect for it now, but still.]

Speaking of Tokyo... What happens when I go to college next year?

[It's pretty well decided he's going there. As long as the scholarships come through. The only downside is the eight-hour train ride.]

[Kaoru looks at Kei, wide-eyed and a bit surprised.]

I have to go to college, too, you know. And Tokyo is a big city with a lot of schools.

[He smirks softly.] Maybe we can even be roommates.

[That gets a startled look.]

...Huh. I guess I just thought you'd be going to Paris. Or Milan. Aren't those the big fashion centers?

[Then, a beat late - (Unusual for Kei, but it's been an evening.)]

Wait. Did you just ask me to live with you?

You're not wrong, but I'm not just going to study fashion. [Kaoru explains briefly.] Actually, right now I'm planning a double major in Fashion Business Management and International Business Law, and I might tack on a minor in Computer Science, since Hikaru probably won't, and I doubt you're interested in it.

[Although their mother's side of the family has most of the money, the twins can't neglect their father's assets, including his company. After explaining his plans, he smiles fondly at Kei and tilts his head.]

It would be nice to live together, wouldn't it? I know some student athlete programs require you to live in their dorms, though, so we'll have to see. I'll ask you properly another time.

Computer programming? No thanks, sorry. You'll have to support my exorbitant scientist lifestyle.

[Tough gig, someone's going to have to pull the weight.

Kei's glad to hear these plans, though. Something more concrete then joking about weddings. Or...maybe not joking, but that's too big to grapple with. So this is a good step.]

I'd like to be in the same city, though.

Computer science is a science. [Kaoru protests with a little huff.] It even says so in the name.

[But he is teasing, of course, and he kisses Kei's jaw and hums.]

No wait he studies Fashion Merchandising like Elle Woods!

[At least he's teasing about the computers and not fashion. Some things are too serious for that!]

Don't know. Better think of something. Your family already saw me in this sweater. What do rich people do after wearing clothes once? Burn them?
